Young Mfg Sculpted Walnut Tallboy

$895.00
sold out

This vintage highboy dresser is a striking example of mid-century craftsmanship by Young Manufacturing Co., featuring sculpted drawer fronts, a rich walnut finish, and a distinctive shield-style panel on the cabinet door. The piece is constructed in two separate stacked sections for easier transport and setup—typical of well-made MCM tallboys.

On the upper right, four smooth-gliding drawers provide practical storage, while the left cabinet door reveals three curved interior drawers tucked behind the sculpted panel. The lower section includes three wide drawers, perfect for clothing, linens, or larger items. Solid wood construction, dovetail joinery, and tapered legs speak to its quality and longevity.

Dimensions:
Width: 41 in.
Depth: 20 in.
Total Height: 56 in.
Bottom Section Height: 32 in.

Condition:
Gently restored to preserve original character. Expect minor wear consistent with age, including light finish variation and natural patina. Drawers function smoothly and the entire piece is sturdy and ready to use.

Why Own Original MCM Pieces?

Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design emerged in the 1950s, spanning architecture, decor, and furniture. Iconic figures like Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Charles and Ray Eames, and Knoll defined this timeless movement. While today’s retailers produce replicas, they often lack the durability and elegance of original MCM pieces, which are built to last decades. Authentic Mid-Century furniture, when well-cared-for or expertly restored, becomes an heirloom. A piece of history to be enjoyed for generations. Choose our collection to invest in fine furniture with enduring quality and style, not disposable items.
