This striking gentleman’s chest from the iconic Drexel Declaration line blends timeless design with smart functionality. Designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDougall in the 1960s, this piece features rich walnut woodgrain, clean lines, and signature white porcelain pulls.
Originally configured with interior drawers and an adjustable shelf, this piece came to us incomplete, so we got creative. The left cabinet had missing drawers, and the shelf on the right was long gone. Rather than trying to recreate something that wasn’t there, we reimagined the interior for modern use. The right side houses a hidden vanity drawer with a lift-top mirror and divided compartments, perfect for jewelry or keepsakes. Below that, an open cabinet space provides flexible storage. The left cabinet remains open as well, great for baskets, folded linens, or even shoes.
Four lower drawers provide ample storage and glide smoothly. Dovetail joinery, tapered legs, and that warm walnut finish make this a standout in any bedroom or dressing space.
