Beautiful pair of vintage walnut nightstands from Drexel’s Declaration line, designed in 1959 by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDougall. This series has become one of Drexel’s most collectible mid-century collections, appreciated for its refined walnut construction, sculptural frame, and the original white porcelain knobs that set the line apart from other designs of the era.
Each nightstand features a generous open cubby for books or display and a dovetailed drawer with an interior divider. The angled case profile and rounded post legs give the pieces their signature, modernist silhouette—simple, warm, and architectural without feeling heavy. They’re versatile enough to function as bedside tables, end tables, or accent storage pieces in a living space or office.
The pair is in very good vintage condition. One of the tops was professionally refinished to restore the surface while maintaining the original tone. The other retains its original finish and shows only minor, age-appropriate wear. Both are sturdy, clean, and fully functional, with smooth-gliding drawers and original hardware intact.
Dimensions (each): 23.5” wide, 23” tall, 17” deep.
Sold as a pair.
Important: Due to its size & weight, shipping/delivery of this product includes a “Large Item” fee. Learn more.
